[Comment] Ralinepag in pulmonary arterial hypertension: a step forward
Abstract
In the past few decades, treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) has seen vast growth, resulting in numerous drugs being approved for the management of this devastating condition. The presumed result of these changes in treatment strategy, including initiation of upfront dual-combination therapy, has been epidemiological evidence of improved mortality in PAH and greater prevalence of individuals living with lower-risk disease.1–3 Yet, globally, mortality remains high and more efficacious and tolerable therapies are needed for patients with PAH.
