[Correspondence] Semaglutide treatment fails but might prevent Alzheimer's disease
Abstract
We read with interest Lon S Schneider's Comment1 on the evoke and evoke+ trials2 of oral semaglutide in early symptomatic Alzheimer's disease. While we agree that these studies do not support semaglutide as a treatment for established Alzheimer's disease, we caution against interpreting the findings as evidence against the broader preventive potential of GLP-1 receptor agonists.
